Breast Uplift (Mastopexy)
Rejuvenate your shape…
A breast uplift (Mastopexy) can help restore both your appearance and confidence, helping you look as young as you feel.
Many women are happy with the size of their breasts but would like a firmer, more pert shape. Some women find that their breasts lose the firmness and shape of youth as a result of pregnancy, a change in weight, or simply the ageing process.
Sagging breasts can be corrected with a breast uplift (mastopexy), providing firmer, more youthful breasts with enhanced female contours. To ensure the best results, your consultant plastic surgeon will make a careful assessment of your body to decide the best options with you.
During the uplift procedure the consultant surgeon will remove excess skin and tissue as well as tightening the surrounding skin. The breasts will then be re-shaped and the nipple repositioned to a natural level. Scarring will fade significantly with time. This operation can be combined with breast augmentation to achieve a fuller result if needed.
The operation will be performed under a general anaesthetic and you will need to stay in hospital for 1-2 nights. When it's time for you to leave hospital, you will be given a follow up appointment with your consultant, and/or the dressing clinic for the removal of any stitches, together with any medication prescribed.
Breast Uplift (Mastopexy) patients are recommended to have a week off work to allow time to rest and recover comfortably at home. Any strenuous work or activity should be avoided for at least three weeks.
