Consultant Overview:
James graduated from the University of Edinburgh Medical School in 1987, completed his general surgical training in 1991 before joining the Thames Regional Specialist Training Programme in Plastic Surgery. Following this, he was accepted for a one-year Fellowship in Hand Surgery at the world-renowned Christine M. Kleinert Institute for Hand & Microsurgery in Louisville, USA. He was subsequently appointed as a Consultant in Plastic & Hand Surgery at the Queen Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead in 2001. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons with a specialist registration in Plastic Surgery and is a member of the British Society for Surgery of the Hand. His interests include all aspects of hand surgery (including the reconstruction of traumatic injuries) and general plastic surgery.
